My life has been a tapestry of rich and royal hue

これまで人生の中で、豊かで気高い色合いのタペストリーが

An everlasting vision of the ever changing view

永遠の夢見たいな千変万化の光景で

A wondrous woven magic in bits of blue and gold

細かい青や金色の素敵な織物の魔法

A tapestry to feel and see, impossible to hold

感じ取って、触れはしないものだった

Once amid the soft silver sadness in the sky

空の柔らかな銀色の悲しみの中に

There came a man of fortune, a drifter passing by

通りがかりの金持ちの放浪者が現れた

He wore a torn and tattered cloth around his leathered hide

彼は柔肌に敗れたボロボロの布と

And a coat of many colors, yellow-green on either side

色とりどりで左右が黄緑のコートを身につけて

He moved with some uncertainty, as if he didn't know

彼はどこか不満げでなんでそこにきたのかも

Just what he was there for, or where he ought to go

どこへ行くべきかもわからないようだった

Once he reached for something golden hanging from a tree

木からぶら下がる金色のものに手を伸ばしたけど

And his hand came down empty

下ろしてみたらその手には何もなかったの

Soon within my tapestry along the rutted road

私のタペストリーの中で、彼は鞭のある

He sat down on a river rock and turned into a toad

道沿いの川の石に座るとヒキガエルになったの

It seemed that he had fallen into someone's wicked spell

誰かの邪悪な呪文にかかったみたいだったわ

And I wept to see him suffer though I didn't know him well

彼をよく知らなかったけど彼が苦しむのを見て涙したわ

As I watched in sorrow, there suddenly appeared

悲しみに暮れて見てると突然

A figure gray and ghostly beneath a flowing beard

長く伸びた顎髭の下に灰色で幽霊のような姿が現れたの

In times of deepest darkness, I've seen him dressed in black

深い暗黒の時代に私は黒を身につけた彼を見たわ

Now my tapestry's unraveling, he's come to take me back

今、私のタペストリーは解けていって

He's come to take me back

彼が私を連れ戻しに来たの
